A lesson aimed at using AFOREST to write an argument on a popular debate topic. Aimed at KS4 but can easily be adapted. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Lesson is created using the TEEP model.

Lesson asks students to choose a door to another world (Hogwarts, Narnia, Neverland, Wonderland and Middle Earth.) A creative writing lesson using an extract from Alice in Wonderland. This lesson includes numerous tasks including comprehension questions, information retrieval and creative writing. Aimed at KS3 but could be adapted for older students. Lesson differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme.

Lesson is aimed at getting students interested in the news by making it fun and interesting. Lesson asks students to think about the way they can access the news and why news is important. Students then watch and discuss the news before writing and presenting their own news report on a current topic. Aimed at KS3 students but can easily be adapted to suit older students. Lesson aimed at practicing skills for Paper 1, Question 5. Students discuss the typical features of a fairytale, watch clips from fairytales and from the TV show ‘Once Upon A Time.’ Students eventually write a story about a fairytale character in the real world. Persuasive writing lesson based on Live Aid and Comic Relief. Differentiated using the GCSE mark scheme. Students read an extract from Bob Geldof’s diary which sparked the song 'Do They Know It’s Christmas Time?, discuss the impact of the song and how persuasive writing techniques have been used. Students will eventually create their own piece of persuasive writing. Lesson planned using the TEEP structure.
